Prior to forming Providence, Mrs. Schutzman had achieved the distinguished Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation, completing each exam level on her first attempt.  Prior to that, from 2009-2014, Mrs. Schutzman worked as a senior investment analyst at ICE Canyon, a joint venture with Canyon Capital Advisors.  Canyon Capital Advisors is a Los Angeles-based global hedge fund managing approximately $23 billion in assets.  Mrs. Schutzman sourced investments and assisted in the management of ICE Canyon’s portfolios, comprising over $4 billion in assets under management.  Her sector coverage included consumer, media, and gaming sectors.  Mrs. Schutzman invested in both public and private debt issuances, as well as restructured equities.  In addition to her focus on US investments, Mrs. Schutzman sourced and managed investments in developed international and emerging markets, including the United Kingdom, Latin America, Asia Pacific, and South Africa.  Mrs. Schutzman also played a pivotal role in the firm’s business development and investor relations initiatives. 

From 2008-2009, Mrs. Schutzman worked as a financial analyst in Houlihan Lokey’s Financial Restructuring Group in Los Angeles. There, she advised companies and creditor groups in complex in-court and out-of-court financial restructurings.  Among these, Mrs. Schutzman advised creditors of RH Donnelley in its $10 billion pre-negotiated bankruptcy restructuring, which was the largest transaction in the media sector for 2010.  In 2007, Mrs. Schutzman worked as an investment banking analyst in Goldman Sachs’ Mergers & Acquisitions Group in Los Angeles.

Mrs. Schutzman holds a B.S. with Honors from the University of Southern California Marshall School of Business, where she was recognized as a Presidential Scholar. Her studies focused in Business Administration, with a concentration in financial analysis and valuation.  She also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation. 

Mrs. Schutzman co-chairs the CFA Institute DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) Sub-Committee on Gender Diversity and serves as a member of the CFA Institute DEI Executive Committee. In this capacity, she reviews and supports gender-based programs as part of the CFA Institute’s DEI work globally.

Mrs. Schutzman is a Co-Founder, President and CEO of Collaborative WIM (Women in Investment Management), a global alliance of more than 90 CFA Societies, FPA Chapters and industry groups across the US, Canada, Caribbean, Europe, Middle East, Asia and Latin America to further the advancement and development of female leaders of all backgrounds.  Collaborative WIM has been featured by Bloomberg, NASDAQ, CFA Institute, Cboe Global Markets, Yahoo Finance and Institutional Asset Manager, among others.

From 2019-2023, Mrs. Schutzman served on the Board of Directors of CFA Society Indianapolis. Additionally, she led the society as Marketing Committee Chair, Membership Committee Chair, and Philanthropy Committee Co-Chair. Mrs. Schutzman served as a regional judge and grader for the CFA Institute Research Challenge, an annual global investment case study competition, between 2019-2022.

Since 2022, Mrs. Schutzman has served on the Advisory Board of Women in Funds, a community of female leaders in the private investment funds industry based in New York City with 400+ members across the US and Europe.

Mrs. Schutzman has been an active member of the CFA Institute since 2018.
